Love and the stunning Colorado mountains came together in perfect harmony on Lauren and Juan’s October wedding at North Star Gatherings. Their love story, born out of serendipitous meetings and shared professional interests, blossomed into a beautiful journey filled with adventure, laughter, and deep affection. Lauren and Juan had the most beautiful fall wedding at North Star Gathers in Idaho Springs. Both of them share a deep love for Colorado and enjoy exploring its gorgeous mountain landscapes. They were eager to share this beauty with their friends and family as they celebrated their love story. Juan and Lauren’s journey began when they crossed paths at work. They both work as physicians for the University of Colorado at the Anschutz Campus, although at different hospitals where they wouldn’t typically meet.

Lauren had initially asked one of Juan’s coworkers to give a talk at her hospital, but when he declined and suggested Juan instead, their paths finally converged. Their first in-person meeting took place at the Dazbog on campus to plan a lecture. Juan’s captivating talk impressed Lauren, sparking mutual interest that remained unspoken for a while. It wasn’t until a year later, when Lauren’s childhood friend joined Juan’s work group, that their connection deepened. At that point, Juan took the initiative and made the first move.

The couple’s engagement took place during their first international trip together in Iceland in August 2021. Juan proposed at Oxararfoss waterfall in Pingvellir National Park, where the North American and European tectonic plates meet. As Lauren admired the natural beauty, Juan dropped to one knee, surprising her with heartfelt words and a ring she didn’t know he had shopped for.

Their engagement day didn’t go exactly as planned, with their hike to the waterfall delayed due to a snorkeling activity through Silfra Fissure with some of the clearest water in the world. The stress of leaving Juan’s backpack, containing the engagement ring, in an unmarked van during the snorkel caused a momentary panic, but everything worked out well.

Lauren described her love for Juan, emphasizing his thoughtfulness, generosity, and the positive influence he has on her. She highlighted his patience, grace, and selfless love, making him her rock and biggest cheerleader. In return, Juan expressed his love for everything about Lauren, from her strength, intelligence, and independence to her caring and adventurous nature. He praised her for making him feel loved and supported, even during difficult times.

Their wedding day began with a first look, followed by a celebration filled with stunning views, sunshine, and joyful moments. They chose North Star Gatherings as their wedding venue, nestled in the mountains at almost 9000′, with spectacular views that immediately captured their hearts. They wanted to get married in the state where their love blossomed and share Colorado’s beauty with their out-of-town loved ones.

Lauren and Juan celebrated two dating anniversaries, reflecting their unique journey. Their first date took some time to materialize due to work schedules and vacation plans, but when it finally happened, it marked the beginning of their beautiful love story.

The night continued with friends and family, dancing to the sensational sounds of the band Top Shelf 5280, making their wedding day a truly unforgettable experience.
